TIF Schools Show Exceptional Gains
In the 2011-2012 state accountability results, Mississippi's Teacher Incentive Fund (TIF) schools showed significant gains. Of the ten TIF schools, seven schools met growth and received a Successful label. This represents a significant improvement from the previous year when only three schools met growth.
The TIF schools were originally selected because they did not meet growth and had an accountability label below Successful. IMPACT Mississippi Education has been a primary provider of services to these schools, including the establishment of Professional Learning Communities at each school.
IMPACT Coaches Prepare Administrators for M-STAR
IMPACT's M-STAR certified coaches continue to prepare Mississippi's school and district administrators for the implementation of teacher evaluation and the M-STAR classroom observation rubric.
These training opportunities have taken place with large groups of school administrators, as well as district administrator training hosted by regional service centers.
IMPACT is also working with individual districts and schools to enhance educator understanding of M-STAR and increase inter-rater reliability among evaluators. Contact us to learn how these services can benefit your school and district.

TIF Educators Receive District Honors
School leaders in Mississippi's TIF schools have been recognized by their districts for their outstanding work. Two TIF school principals have received District Administrator of the Year honors, and one TIF mentor teacher has been named District Teacher of the Year.
Patricia Overstreet of Columbus School District's Franklin Academy and Patti Wilkins of George County School District's Central Elementary were named the district's Administrator of the Year. Kay Baxter, also from Central Elementary, was named George County School District's Teacher of the Year. We congratulate these fine educators and are honored to work with such dedicated professionals. IMPACT Mississippi Education has been a primary provider of services to TIF schools, including the establishment of Professional Learning Communities at each school.
